Job Description

 

Scope 1. PM Program (20%) a. Responsibility for modifying existing and implementing new PM tasks for facilities and production equipment in order to minimize unplanned downtime. b. Coordination with production to schedule time to perform PM tasks. 2. Work Request System (20%) a. Monitor work request to ensure: i. Proper prioritization. ii. Accurate entry of work performed, time, and parts used. b. Utilization of system data to identify areas for upgrade and/or additional PM. 3. Equipment Maintenance & Repair (20%) a. Lead support for complex problems. b. Routine work as needed to support mechanics and contractors. c. Major planned downtime events (weekends/holidays possible). d. Off hours support as needed. 4. Capital Projects (20%) a. Full responsibility for preparing and executing projects related to facilities and equipment. 5. Spare Parts Inventory (10%) a. Identify and maintain minimum critical spares for production equipment and essential facilities equipment. 6. Service Contractors (10%) a. Primary liaison for service contractors. b. Maintain management level relationships with service companies. c. Ensure alignment with the appropriate service companies. i. Cost, reliability, quality, safety.

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience 1. Associate’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with 3 years relevant experience or 10 years of experience relevant to position scope in manufacturing maintenance role. 2. Experience with preventative maintenance programs. 3. Experience with electro-mechanical control systems. 4. Computer skills: email, work processing, spreadsheets. 5. Demonstrated experience solving complex problems. 6. Supervision and collaboration. 7. Project Management. Desired Skills Working knowledge of high vacuum systems, web handling, roll-to-roll processing, web coating, and web converting.

Job Specifications

Physical Demand: Moderate physical demand in setting up, loading and operating machines and other equipment. Required to be lifting or moving average weight material much of the time.

Fork Truck:   Required operational and safety training, pass a multiple choice test and a field test on a fork truck.  Use of fork truck is frequent throughout the shift.

Mental Attention or Visual Demand:  Continuous mental and visual attention in operating machines and other equipment and performing other activities requiring constant alertness or activity.

Responsibility for Safety of Others:  Only reasonable care in performing own work is necessary to prevent injury to others.  An accident, should it occur, would result in minor injuries such as cuts, abrasions, burns and bruises.

Precautions, department and company policies, procedures, rules and regulations:  Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, detective materials and unusual conditions.  Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean, orderly, operational and safe condition.

Perform other related duties as required or as directed.
