Illinois Tool Works (ITW) is a Fortune 200 company that produces diversified products in global markets. Some of its products include welding equipment, automotive components, construction materials and commercial food equipment. The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments. This position is in the Hobart Warewash Division at its Danville, Kentucky facility, located 45 minutes south of Lexington, Kentucky.
The Warewash Business Division produces Hobart brand commercial dishwashers that are used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, cruise ships, schools, universities and retail establishments. We are the industry leader and are seeking to expand our growth in existing served markets as well as new markets.
Summary:
As the Mechanical Process Engineer you will conceive, plan, design, develop and coordinate project components and schedules. This is an individual contributor role, but you may also participate as a member of cross-functional teams from time to time; perform validations; troubleshoot and implement product release plans; support sales, service and marketing and complete engineering analysis and designs using various engineering tools. This position will also provide leadership and support to team members.
What you will do:
Support product development initiatives and maintain products to achieve business unit goals and objectives.
Create and develop engineering project documentation
Select and implement appropriate manufacturing processes, equipment, vendors to ensure cost-effective, robust equipment and products that will achieve business unit goals and objectives
Ensure that production requirements are meet and will liaise with all departments, external/internal contractors and customers
Limited travel (less than 10%) to domestic locations such as manufacturing, supplier and customer facilities
What we are looking for:
Solid Process Engineering experience with the ability to solve complex problems; detailed oriented
Create and develop engineering project documentation
An individual with Product validation experience through testing or analytical methods
Problem solving skills
Root cause analysis experience
Ability to execute projects within specified timelines
Knowledge of 3-D software, preferably using AutoCAD and/or Pro-E (Creo) software
MS Office application proficiency
Strength in manufacturing process that includes fabrication/weld/assembly and support/evaluating machinery and systems
