Summary:
The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for providing development support of product packaging to fuel the growth and innovation of ITW Global Brand’s automotive aftermarket business to include wiper blades, and automotive performance and appearance products. Package Engineering is responsible for leveraging internal and external resources and technology to develop and deliver quality packaging solutions while meeting customer expectations and company goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains Specifications as developed and coordinates among proprietary and contract plants to ensure that specifications are met.
Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to support continuous improvement programs through the innovation, redesign and manufacturing process of packaging components.
Supports efforts for quality monitoring and assurance processes with packaging suppliers across the network.
Provide technical expertise, creativity and foresight to Quality Assurance in solving packaging related quality issues.
Coordinates supplier corrective actions across the network and leverage the Procurement group as necessary to manage supplier quality issues.
Assists in business case input for development of capital requirements needed by packaging changes and provides input to packaging project plans.
Assists coordination efforts with Marketing to understand requirements and creates designs to meet those requirements while preserving functionality and durability of packaging materials
Conducts root cause analysis and troubleshooting exercises as needed, and resolves issues through internal and external stakeholders.
Manage assigned workload through effective time management, planning, and coordination of projects to meet fast paced schedules and deadlines.
Maintains a working knowledge of basic supplier manufacturing processes including plastic molding, flexible materials, secondary cartons and corrugate.
Qualifications
BS in engineering or packaging engineering required.
Required 2 to 5 years’ experience providing primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging development support in a consumer products, durable goods, food or beverage industry
Highly organized, self-starter able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt well to changing schedules and prioritize multiple projects.
Demonstrated results in the selection and application of sound engineering practices and principles to the design and development of high volume consumer products packaging.
Broad understanding of the fundamentals of consumer packaging development with a working knowledge of materials, equipment, and processes required in the production of consumer packaging, particularly liquid, aerosols and flexible packages.
Demonstrated project management skills for packaging changes and packaging introductions.
Solid organization, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to contribute within a multi-functional team environment
Creative, highly motivated self-driven individual with the demonstrated ability to independently complete complex engineering tasks as well as with various levels of the organization.
Extrusion Blow and Injection molding experience preferred.

Job Description
Our Technical Support Engineers provide information, advice and technical support to a variety of clients, both professional and amateur, about problems with software application. They are highly trained within their specialist areas, and must be able to communicate technical information, clearly and concisely, to a wide range of internal and external clients. RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactively manage high level, complex client service issues, researching and resolving issues quickly and efficiently
Create technical documentation to serve as a knowledge base for handling support issues
Ensure inquiries are responded to within established timeframes and support service levels are achieved
Collaborate closely with development and service teams as well as key account management.
Shape the future of the product by reporting bugs and feature requests
Qualifications
One or more years’ experience in technical support or in a customer facing role
Associate's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or relevant experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
Familiarity in C# or Java
Experience with enterprise software applications
Knowledge of relational databases like MSSQL, DB2, Oracle and MySQL
Basic understanding of software testing concepts
Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills to convey complex technical issues to appropriate audiences correctly for action or education
Customer-centric attitude with the ability to make sound decisions based on customer needs and product knowledge
Driven to learn and willing to “go the extra mile” as part of our team
